A decision is made by the board in conjunction with the director by 2-3pm whether to cancel rehearsal that evening. The director will notify the accompanist that rehearsal is cancelled. The board will send an email to the chorus email coordinator (Donna 2024) who will send out the notice of the cancelled rehearsal to everyone on the roster. Donna has asked that she also get a phone call to make sure she got the message and she has agreed to check her email by 3pm. The board will also email and call the 4 section leaders to be sure they received the message. We suggest chorus members check their emails by 3 pm when inclement winter weather is forecast. It would be helpful if singers sent a note to their section leader that they received the message so section leaders have less people to contact. Section leaders will follow up with the people in their section to be sure they know rehearsal is cancelled. This can be done by via email, phone or text message if section members agree that they do not mind being contacted via text. It is very important that section leaders confirm with everyone in their section that they received the message including reaching out by phone. Section Leaders Section leaders are responsible for getting information to and from the members of their section. They help members with problems or concerns, track attendance, make follow-up calls, and contact members with emergency or weather cancellations. Please call your section leader if you know you will be absent.
